The Undisputed King of Clay

The hand of God played a huge part in handing Nadal his 8th Italian Open on Sunday. Youngster Sascha Zverev was on a roll and was well on his way to defending the Masters he clinched last year with straight sets win over Novak Djokovic. But Providence stepped in...The Heavens opened up and the match was halted at 6-1,1-6,2-3. The first set had been all Nadal as he almost seemed to be serving the youngster a Masterclass in Winning. He dominated the first step and the final looked to be over before it actually began. But something switched in Zverev as he stepped on court for the 2nd set, he had renewed energy and what we saw was the stuff Grand Slam Winners are made of. He was close to serving Nadal a bagel and took the set comfortably. The 3rd set started off with an early break for Zverev, which he consolidated on his service. Sports101

I fell hard for Sports through my brothers. They introduced me to Football and Basketball. They were both fans and watching sports gave them so much joy. For me, I fell head over heels for Thierry Henry before i loved Arsenal.I just wanted my imaginary bf to succeed and was always in front of my TV rooting for him. And even though Arsenal gives me grief all the time, I am still hopeful for the glory days and with Monsieur Wenger officially gone, it just may be the dawning of a new day. So which sports am I a fan of these days;(in no particular order) Tennis Football F1 Those are my Holy Trifecta.  Right now, Tennis and RF do it for me. Not a fan of Nadal, can not however deny the fact that he is a genius on clay. I also have genuine goodwill towards a few of the Next Gen kiddos - Chung, Zverev and sometimes Kyrgios(when his head is screwed on properly). For the WTA side of things, I love me some Naomi Osaka. I really want her to do well. Of course, ...
